Sharing our latest update. It’s a long one.

Hudson continues to do fantastic following surgery. Truly, if you didn’t know what’s going on, you wouldn’t know. He amazes us every day. 💪🏻

Hudson was seen by St. Louis Children’s neuro-oncology on Tuesday to discuss the plan of action. He also saw audiology to have a baseline hearing test due to the location of the tumor. His hearing is good, and considering his age, he cooperated well for the test! 🤩

I’ve been putting off making this post because, to be honest, it’s not the post I want to make.

Yesterday, Hudson went to daycare. Isn’t that incredible?! Just 6 days after having major brain surgery, he was able to go back to daycare, and he did fantastic! He went again today, and went all day without pain meds. I honestly think, if not for the giant incision on his head, that if you didn’t know what he’s been through in the last week, you wouldn’t know.

After a more challenging night last night, we had a good day today. Last night Hudson had more pain and a couple episodes of vomiting, which was scary. Thankfully his neuro checks were all good, and once he had some extra pain meds and zofran, he was able to rest better.

Hudson has has a big day! He started with his MRI at 0730, and he did great with the anesthesia. They couldn’t believe how quickly he woke up and was ready to get on with his day. All of his exams with his doctors went great. He was evaluated by OT and was discharged because he’s doing so well! The PT stopped in while he was napping, so he hasn’t had a PT evaluation yet. He may still get a consult tomorrow.

8:30am - Hudson is with his surgical team. We expect it to be several hours before he makes it to recovery. I know they are going to take the best care of him, along with his guardian angel. Please pray for our Hudson James, and pray for the intercession of St. James, Hudson’s patron saint, on his feast day today.
