Dec 13 - Time at Home Update
After the neupogen shots all last weekend, Hudson’s ANC skyrocketed and was 196,000 on Monday. 🤯 His platelets and RBCs were also both up on Monday. So we stopped the shots, and he had a good week hanging with grandma and grandpa while I worked a few days. Hudson’s appetite is doing well, he’s maintaining weight, and he has great energy. He just wants to play and be part of the action, which is very hard when we’re trying to keep him healthy and out of crowds. He’s been quite sad about not getting to go to the girls’ indoor soccer games this week - he wants to be where they are. 💛
Today, we went to clinic for labs, dressing change, and check up. His platelets and RBCs were good, and he did not need any transfusions, but his ANC has fallen all the way down to 380 today. 😱 Not quite sure how that happens in just four days, and honestly, his team hasn’t had much of an explanation either, other than that this happens sometimes. They don’t seem worried, so I’m trying not to worry. We started his neupogen shots again today and will continue through the weekend, with a recheck at SF again on Monday. 🙏🏻
Hudson was so happy to be part of the action this evening at the Santa event at St. Francis. He loved seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus and even went to sit on Santa’s lap a second time. I think Hudson might’ve sat there all night if we had let him! ❤️ We really appreciate the team at SF accommodating us to come early and avoid the crowd. Just getting to have our annual Santa visit was magical for all of us this year!
So not much has changed since last week - feels a bit like deja vu! Please pray again this week for his ANC to come back up and especially to stay up once we stop his neupogen! Thank you all so much for praying for our little fighter 💪🏻
Jesus, we trust in you! 💛
